So on this episode of trying new things, I’d like to talk about my skydiving experience. Yeah, I know it may not be for everyone, but if you’re on the fence and apprehensive, I would say it’s given me a newfound sense of self-confidence. I remember being more than terrified and prepared to crash into the earth below, but as you probably can tell, everything went according to plan.

Here are some tips for planning your skydiving adventure:

  • Research
    • I felt very safe with the company I went with, but do your own research. Check reviews and YouTube videos. We’re in a time where everyone post everything on the internet including me (link to my skydiving video).

  • Pay for video/photos in advance
    • I don’t remember the exact price comparison all I can tell is that I waited until last minute and had to pay more for a video of my skydiving experience.

  • Cover Up
    • I know you’ll probably figure this out while looking on the different company’s sites, but yeah, unless you want gravel embedded in your knees, wear pants.

  • Relax
    • They give you step-by-step instructions on how to prepare to land and what to do while in there are and I’m pretty sure about 99.9% of people forget that before exiting the plan and they know that so just relax. Try not to tense up and enjoy.

Keep in mind that the person you’ll be jumping with wants to reach the ground safely as well, so they will do everything in their power to do so and be safe.

I wouldn’t say I’m a thrill-seeker but skydiving was on one of my bucket list items because I noticed I had a lot of self-doubts and wanted to do something to make me think “well if I can do this I can do anything”.

I’ll say skydiving did what it needed to do.

There’s that split moment when just dropping off the plane where you’re like “oh crap, it’s all over”. In the next moment, you come to terms with the potential end and feel that if that’s the case, you might as well enjoy the view.

I recall thinking about how fragile life is and how all the basic drama and stresses are so insignificant.

Our time on this planet is finite. Once you comprehend that and release your fear, you see there’s no point in not fulfilling your dreams. Go towards what you want. Take action and get things done.

Life is short, so do all that you can and live up to your potential. If you can skydive, you can do anything.
